While I’m REALLY hoping we’ll get back to in-person events before the year is out, in the meantime I appreciate that virtual events make it possible to reach a wider audience. And I’m fortunate to even have folks inviting me to put on virtual events!

A book club at Mills River Presbyterian Church here in NC invited me to meet with them last March just before the whole world went into lockdown. (That’s me in the middle, practicing my pandemic hairdo.) And now they’re hosting a virtual event with me on Feb. 25. If you’d like to attend, the details are below. Thanks so much to Kathy Ziprik for coordinating this!

On Thursday, February 25th, from 7-8 p.m., author Sarah Loudin Thomas will host an Author Reading and Discussion. Coordinated by Mills River Presbyterian Church, the free Zoom session is open to the first 30 people to RSVP.

Thomas will provide an interactive overview of her popular books along with a reading from her newest book, The Right Kind of Fool. The author of eight Appalachian-themed books that weave in a Christian message, Thomas serves as the Development and Human Resources Officer for Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth and Families.

There is no need to have read Thomas’s books to participate in this Zoom call. Everyone is welcome! To RSVP, contact Kathy Ziprik at ZiprikPR@gmail.com. The first 30 people to sign up will be scheduled for the free, one-hour call.

Mills River Presbyterian Church is located at 10 Presbyterian Church Road in Mills River, accessible from Haywood Road or Highway 280. The church is hosting live Sunday church services at 10am via Zoom. For more information, call 828-891-7101.
