I’ve always felt something like panic when someone asks, “What’s new with you?” I suddenly feel like I have to come up with something interesting and rarely feel like I can deliver. And then there’s January 2022–talk about starting a new year off NEW!
Let’s see. New house. New job. New town. Oh, and my husband finally got a new car after more than a decade!
If you’ve missed my weekly blog posts lately, well, I’m gonna say all of that is my excuse. But we’re pretty well settled now. I have two weeks as full-time director of The Mitford Museum under my belt, and my intent is to get back to regular updates here on the ole blog. Which is NOT new and that’s a comfort at the moment!
Just for fun, here are a few pictures of favorite spots in our new house. It’s cozy and lovely and somehow reminds me of my childhood home on the farm in WV. Maybe it’s the windows . . .
- A book table Dad found for me at an antique auction.
- Built-in bookshelves was a MAJOR selling point.
- Of course, we brought our own bookcases as well.
- A serene corner upstairs.
- An antique lap desk–also found by Dad at auction.
- I thought this book table would hold all of my Appalachian research books. Ha!
So, what’s NEW with you?
Love! Your new house..just “my” style too!! The Antique cabinet w/the tea pot~I have one exactly like it..
Was passed down (3) generations in Aunt Mary’s family :)) SO very happy for you & hubby❤️ I DO plan one day to come visit the Museum 🙂
