When we were kids walking home from the school bus along a West Virginia dirt road, touch-me-not or jewel weed offered excellent entertainment. And now, as an adult, when I’m walking Thistle along mountain trails, I keep an eye out for plump jewel weed pods. Because this is STILL a heckuva a lot of fun!
That is so cool. I don’t know if we have it in NE Alabama on Sand Mountain, but I’m gonna look.
They’re often considered weeds. Check the ditches!
Awww…SO cool 🙂 You are just full of information…aren’t you?!?! Will have to look for it :))
My grandsons & I had fun with jewel weed when I lived in the country. Brought back lots of memories.
Just saw some Saturday at Plant Delights and wondered what they were. They look almost as fun as snapping snap dragons!
