At The Mitford Museum, we hosted our first annual GetLit! this past weekend. While Hurricane Ian threatened to have a negative impact, the storm skirted us, and we had a great time.

As a writer, there are few things more fun than hanging out with other writers. Whether already published or working that direction, story people are the BEST.

Of course, I’m also pooped after coordinating two days of talks, classes, art, music, and fabulous food. So, forgive me today for simply posting some pictures!

That’s me with writing contest winner Eliza Jennings. She won in the youth category and is a delight!
My friend Debbie stocked up on books. Hey–do I see you got one more of Wiley’s than mine?!?
Sarah McCoy and I laughing it up on stage while we talk about the writing life.

Michael Winslow’s art tells a story all its own–Post Hole Diggers is my FAVORITE. I think I can write that story . . .
Wiley Cash shared tons of great information for up and coming writers.
Sarah and I getting to know each other ahead of her talk–the power of TWO Sarahs (with an H).
Former NC Poet Laureate Joseph Bathanti inspired us all. I wish I hadn’t been teaching so I could have taken his class!
