I planned to post a picture of our finished tree this morning as a follow-up to yesterday’s post. But somehow, I didn’t much feel like posting today. With the school shooting in Connecticut the season seems to have lost some of its joy.
But Dave Ramsey said something on the radio yesterday afternoon. He said that one of the things we can do to battle evil is to fill the world with good. What if we could do so much good that evil began to be squeezed out? Oh, I know we probably can’t love all the ills of the world away, but I think we can make a dent.
So on this sad morning, 10 days before we celebrate our Saviour’s birth, here’s something a little bit good. A tree with stars and an angel on top. An evergreen, for everlasting life.
Nicely said.
Thanks–sometimes there just isn’t much to say.
Lovely tree, Sarah… and even lovlier thoughts. I feel that if we Christians don’t step up and really begin filling the world with acts of love and compassion, evil will overtake the world. Merry Christmas.
Exactly.
