It’s peak leaf season this week and hence one of my favorite times of the year. I’ve been hiking up Bartlett Mountain, which is just across the street from our house. It’s a steep climb, but well worth it once I get up there. As I climb, I make a point of not turning around to see the view until I get to the top–then, ta-da! Breathtaking.
We have a sugar maple just behind the house that is also peaking this week. It’s brilliant orangey-red and when the sun hits it in the afternoon it sends a deep glow into all the windows on that side of the house including the kitchen and dining room. Unspeakably lovely.
It’s nice to know who to thank.
Is that first picture actually one you took from the top? It would be great to be sitting in one of those chairs across from you sharing the fall beauty!
