Sometimes you need to step back from work and writing and family and just sit down along the trail to watch a puddle of butterflies peacefully pass what is–for them–a significant percentage of their lives.
Then stand and startle them. And in the startling, find yourself in a cloud of beauty on a still, summer afternoon.

I get enthused with one lone viceroy paddling about in the garden. I might get a happy conniption with a puddle of ’em!
On our afternoon walk today, Thistle stepped into a smallish puddle of butterflies without noticing and jumped a foot when the lifted all around her. Now THAT would have been some good video. It’s been a butterfly-ful summer!
Awesome!
Thank you , Sarah for your beautiful words.
You’re most welcome!
I see a pending new book “The Sound of Rain” – will be looking for it.
Due out in early November!
